We face significant environmental, social and cultural challenges today. Design innovation can help, but only if we open up the design process to everyone. Co-creation puts tools for creativity and communication in the hands of the people who will be served through design. It is only though collective thinking and acting that we will be able to use design to help address the challenges we face today.
Most of us come to the table with our own disciplinary tools, methods and mindsets, yet participation from people across many disciplines is necessary. MakeTools is a language that can be used by everyone for harnessing and directing collective creativity toward positive change for the future. All people are creative and can participate in co-designing if they are provided with relevant tools and the settings for their use.
